Things to do
Lynchburg, Tennessee
The Lynchburg TN / Moore County Courthouse was built in 1885 and serves as the center of the Lynchburg TN Square at a cost to build of $6,875. In 1968, two wings were added -- one on each side of the building -- to match the original architecture. Only four courthouses in Tennessee built in the 1880's survive and fortunately this is one of them.
The walls of the building are twenty inches thick to support the large structure.
The building remains as the county courthouse.
