Natural Bridge is a three-acre natural area located in Sewanee, which is in Franklin County. Natural Bridge is a 25 feet high natural sandstone arch with a span of 50 feet that provides a scenic overlook of Lost Cove. There is a wet weather spring associated with a rock house located behind the natural bridge. It is likely that the spring contributed to the formation of the natural bridge itself. The visit is a short one depending on how long you want to stay there. We allocated an hour as we sat there for a bit.
The natural area is operated by Tennessee State Parks.
The walk to the Natural Bridge in Sewanee is very short from the parking area. It is a bit of a decline going down so you would want to have supportive shoes.
You can walk on the bridge as of this writing. Though there are no rails on either side to prevent falling or slipping. Please make sure to follow all information and caution signs. As always use your judgement.
Yes you an walk down to the small valley below the natural bridge and may be able to see the spring at that area.
