Who is the Tims Ford Lake Council?  

Tims Ford Council is one of the many non-profit organizations located around the Tims Ford Lake.  This organization is focused on keeping Tims Ford Lake a wonderful place to live and visit. 

Their mission statement, 

Tims Ford Council exists to promote and protect the quality of Tims Ford Lake 
and its shoreline environ, to provide a forum for discussion, education 
and appropriate action concerning Lake 
issues and activities, and to maintain active liaison
 with federal, state and local authorities,
departments and agencies. 

What Does Tims Ford Council Do?

They are focused on anything revolving around their mission.  A few activities that they run or sponsor include:

1. Tims Ford Lake Cleanup. 
   1. Since 2009 over 40,000 pounds of litter has been picked up from the Tims Ford Lake.
   2. Event: There was a cleanup on Saturday Dec 3, 2022 where over 9,000 pounds of trash was collected by a team of almost 40 volunteers.  The volunteers were divided into teams with the teams to picked up the most weight in trash won prizes.
   3. Event:  The next lake cleanup is scheduled for January 2023.
      
      
2. Tims Ford Lake Beautification 
   1. They have built docks, restored beaches and many more things.
      
      
3. Water Sampling
   1. Over 9,000 samples have been taken over the years to help monitor the health of the lake and look for trends.
